Rachel Frances
Queer, Integrative, Trauma-Informed, Relational Counsellor
Hello, I’m Rachel (she/her) and a warm welcome to my website.
I'm a fully qualified Counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) working within the ethical framework for counselling professionals.
I'm fully insured and DBS checked, working in private practice both in-person in Bristol and also online.
My counselling approach is relational, integrative and trauma-informed. I'm guided not only through my counsellor training but through years of working in specialist support services, and also my own lived experience.
I'll hold anything you decide to bring to your sessions with curiosity, whilst prioritising your needs and safety. We may look at how your earlier life experiences influence your present thoughts and behaviours, incorporating various counselling theories into my practice, depending on what feels appropriate for your specific needs.
I have a warm, calm, and non-judgemental approach to my work with all clients. I will hold space for you to explore difficult or distressing thoughts or feelings but I also recognise the importance of humour in therapy.
I'll work collaboratively with you in a way that establishes safety and builds trust. The foundation of any work we do together will be based on me developing a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship with you where you may feel safe enough to explore what's going on.
